Food Safety and Compliance

Great Lakes Packing Company processes over thirty million pounds of fresh cherries a year at its two facilities. We maintain strict control over production to ensure we supply the safest ingredients with the highest possible quality.

GLPC facilities are licensed by the State of Michigan as food establishments. We operate our business in compliance with all local, state, federal, and international laws and regulations of all countries we provide products to. We comply with provisions of the Food Safety and Modernization Act (FSMA).

GLPC products are produced under FDA-approved food safety plans using Preventive Controls and principles of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP). Management is committed to maintaining and constantly improving the food safety system and upholding the highest food quality standards. We provide our employees with the resources and training necessary to understand and be competent in applying these practices.

At Great Lakes Packing Company, our commitment is never to compromise on the safety, compliance, and quality of our products and services. We believe this commitment at all levels of the organization constitutes the foundation of our success.
